Arthritis is painful, restricting and difficult to treat. Chinese herbal treatments for arthritis can be a godsend in that they are often far more effective than Western medicine.

Chinese Herbal Treatments for Arthritis

Arthritis is a very painful and very common affliction that results from inflammation of the joints. It is one of the most common ailments in people over the age of 65. There are various forms of arthritis and also various causes. In some cases, arthritis is the result of prior injury to the joint, but it is also thought to be just the natural result of aging. Pain is perhaps the most significant problem and indicator of arthritis, but reduced range of motion is also a frequent symptom.

Chinese Tradition Medicine views arthritis as a blockage syndrome. As is usually the case in Chinese medicine, the condition is not accepted as a natural state of affairs in the human body even in older people. Rather, it is seen as a blockage of the smooth flow of Qi and blood through the energetic Pathways of the Meridians of the body. It is also viewed as being the result of environmental conditions. The Pathogenic influences of wind, cold, and dampness break through the natural defenses of the body and lodge themselves in the muscles, tendons, and joints.

The concept of Painful Obstruction syndrome where these foreign elements are creating Qi blockage are the basis for treatment of arthritis. While acupuncture is commonly used to treat and relieve pain, herbal treatments are indicated for the long term treatment and prevention of arthritis. There are a wide variety of herbs that have been used or are indicated in the relief of arthritis. They include ginger, Chinese Thunder God vine, willow bark extract, feverfew, cat’s claw, and stinging nettle.

Recently, studies have been done on an herbal extract known as Tripterygium Wilfordi Hook F (TWHF) that has proved beneficial in the treatment of severe Rheumatoid Arthritis. The reports claim that it is very comparable to prednisone, a common chemical medication used in the treatment of arthritis. As in the cases of other herbal treatments and alternative medicine solutions in general, there is some controversy over the use of herbal medicines in the treatment of arthritis. The major complaint seems to be over the lack of regulation and uncertainty about the side effects of some of the herbal preparations.

The Chinese herbal medicine approach to treatment has been tested in the laboratory of human experience over a period of five thousand years. When it is combined with other treatments such as acupuncture and proper regulation of diet and exercise, there is no question that it has proven effective in the treatment of arthritis and the relief of the pain and lack of mobility associated with it.

Acupuncture For Nervous System Treatment

By: Elboydny

Are you looking for some inside information on acupuncture? Here's an up-to-date report from acupuncture experts who should know.

Acupuncture is a technique in which very lean needles of varying lengths are inserted by the skin. People do not feel any discomfort when the needles are inserted and many find acupuncture soothing. The most that modern research has been able to determine is that the points on the skin where needles are used let go of endorphines. A great point for almost all patients is explaining how good accupuncture really is. A dislocation or lack of consciousness in one's energetic balance may be corrected though accupuncture. Acupuncture has proved its usefulness in the problems that accompany and complicate traumatic illness. Acupuncture is something that you could imagine to be tuning the body parts to obtain a balance in the energy flow.

Blockage of energy would sooner or later lead to disease. The most frequent reasons people seek medical exam attention is for discomfort relief. A disruption or stagnation in the flow of vital energy (chi prana or bio-energy) is found to be the root of many other medical problems. The benefits of the body's systems working together to break down so-called blockages of energy in the body create a feeling of well-being in the patient. Acupuncture has proved excellence in treating many ailments, particularly to relieve discomfort.

As soon as you begin to move beyond basic background information, you start to realize that there's more to acupuncture than you may have first believed.

Blockages beside the meridians restrict the flow of chi through our bodies. The most common illness treated by acupuncture is arthritis. This far east therapy focuses on the body's energy flow and organ systems and is based on the principals of adjusting the energy. Each point and pathway has been indentified and drawn on a model in a real life situation to know exactly where to place the needles. On the average most patients start to show a good response after 4-6 treatments. Acupuncture is also believed to decrease pain by increasing the release of chemicals that block pain. The needles can feel uncomfortable at times but patients seldom describe the sensation as painful.

Acupuncture is a centuries-old chinese method of curing. Blockages along energy pathways in the body called meridians might cause pain. The needles most frequently used in now at day practice are made of stainless steel. Acupuncture as treatment for migraines headaches and as an alternative for anti-depressants has shown to be very essential. Blockage of energy flow is considered to be the major cause of pain and disease. Blockage of energy in any of these points could cause pain in the body.

Acupuncture has proved to be a very excellent and simple to use method when dealing with different physical problems. This far east therapy burst upon the scene after president nixon's trip to China in 1972. During an acupuncture facial treatment small needles are used to stimulate circulation and boost collagen.

Now you can be a confident expert on acupuncture. OK, maybe not an expert. But you should have something to bring to the table next time you join a discussion on acupuncture.

By Steve Hill

There is some potentially positive news for people who suffer from arthritis. Latest research has claimed that a herbal remedy made from rose-hip could eradicate the dreadful pain people who have arthritis feel. Unlike many other potential solutions there are reportedly no known side-effects to this latest treatment.

This news has caused excitement in athritis specialist quarters after years of negativity, caused by the the many risks connected to conventional painkilling drugs.

This latest study was conducted by a team from The University Of Copenhagen who observed and studied nearly one hundred people suffering from the condition. Four fifths of these people found that after only three weeks of taking the herbal remedy supplement, they were noticing a reduction in pain. This was despite only needing to take half the dosage of traditional painkillers.

Where Can You Buy The Rose-Hip Supplement?

There are many places where you can purchase this rose-hip supplement and due to this news it is likely to become even more widely available in the future. Your best bet at the moment is to visit your local chemist or health food shop and if this does not work you can always try the internet.
